Or any young man refusing military orders. “But in a war where they see no point – probably because there is no point – some of them refuse to fight. “It must be because this generation has grown up in a different world, is more skeptical, more doubting, fully aware it has often been lied to. “And less than willing to fight when there is no need to fight, and die when there is no need to die, simply because some political figure says so. “It may be too much to conclude – but not too much to hope – that in this and other advanced countries young men can no longer be ordered to march into battle unless they are given some reasons, and the reasons are good ones. “If so, it may be the greatest event of our lifetime.” - David Brinkley

Why were the Vietnam War veterans treated so badly after their return to America? I have heard stories of people throwing feces and eggs on returning soldiers. The soldiers were in Vietnam on orders and it was unfair.
